COCO MADEMOISELLE INTENSE INITIAL IMPRESSIONS!

COCO MADEMOISELLE INTENSE  (INITIAL IMPRESSIONS!)     Notes: Bergamot, Orange             Rose, Jasmine             Patchouli, Vanilla, Labdanum, and Tonka  Sillage: Enveloping cloud. Medium to high.    Inital Spray Impressions: Citric opening not as bright and screechy as Coco Mad. Earthy but medium weight patchouli surfaces (not like angel patch at all) floral Rose is dominant then undercurrent of jasmine. Heavier than the current incarnation of Coco Mad but not as heavy as a vintage. Richer in tone than Coco Mad. Give it about 15 min to harmonize from first spray. There seems more notes going on than the listed copy. Its blending is hallmark Chanel. I dont feel its that close to the first formula coco mad because its brightness and substantial fruity presence is not here in the Intense. This is more Patchouli and mild Vanilla stirs with Rose in my wearing as the do...

The Library Collection Opus IX by Amouage Review

The Library Collection Opus IX by Amouage Review  Amouage IX 100ml red bottle (2015) Notes:   top:       camelia, jasmine and black pepper;  middle guaiac wood, leather and beeswax;  base :    vetiver, ambergris and civet.  Artistic storytelling from Christopher Chong, creative director at Amouage.  Underneath his put together personal exterior thrives a creative, passionate man. In Amouage IX, sit back in your favorite chair, relax with a drink, and let this fragrance play. Enjoy it like your favorite  piece of music. It opens strongly with black pepper, incense, sweet ambergris and floral jasmine. For a moment it reminded me one of the accords used in Amouage Fate but with the volume turned up with the pepper to grab your attention immediately. Its a performance in a bottle. It has artistic twists, turns and resolutions. Once the opening subsides a rich creamy, sweet, wa...

Les Exclusifs Coromandel EDP Review

CHANEL COROMANDEL EDP REVIEW Coromandel Eau de Parfum is a woody oriental. It is made of frankincense, benzoin, patchouli and amber. Coromandel is said to be inspired by the exquisite Chinese lacquer screens  found in  CoCo Chanel's apartments. I had a huge trepidation trying Coromandel. I heard it was close to Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights. I did not like Fancy Nights with my chemistry, and put Coromandel exploration on the back burner. I feel everything has been pretty much accurately covered regarding the nuts and bolts making up Coromandel in other blogs, so Im going to take a bird walk to expand this review a bit in a few different directions. Coromandel felt slightly familiar. I remembered Matriarch's CoCo Blanc also had a white chocolate, milky chai-vanilla wood feel. Chanel 1932 edt also resonated with me with its sweet, woody-vanillic base and its orris note that is once again used in Coromandel. Angel sprung to mind with its chocolaty-patchoul...

Hot News: Caron NYC Boutique Closed

CARON NYC LOCATION CLOSED! Cafleurbon.com released news that that iconic Caron Boutique in NYC was closed. The Caron Boutique in New York City was moved to a small showroom space at One Grand Central Place| 60 E 42 St/54th Floor. Ms. Diane Haska was its gracious steward on all things Caron. Thank you Diane for keeping a bastion of true french perfumery alive in the USA. This whole development is sad for Caronistas around the country. I contacted Caron's Facebook presence and discussed my displeasure at such a decision and the ever increasing difficulty to get their products. I was instructed by those at Caron to contact: "Martina S." at Martina@parisperfumesinc.com or call 212-707-6200 is Ales Group USA HQ (parent company that owns Caron). Press 9 for Caron. It seems a new company is representing the brand. http://parisperfumesinc.com/  However, no flagship store to walk into, no real store presence in the USA.  UPDATE: Lord and Taylor and Bergdorf Goo...

Welcome to the fragrance blogsite of Golden Gardenias!

Welcome everyone. I wanted to start a blog to share my thoughts on fragrance, the online fragrance community, reviews, giveaways, and everything related to perfume and fragrance. It is a very big passion of mine and I welcome all views respectfully stated and please feel free to share your thoughts and experiences too in the comments section after my post. Everyone processes scent differently, so my experience may differ from yours, but that's the great magic of fragrance!  I try to educate myself as much as I can on the subject, but I am only an enthusiast at heart. I will be opening a Facebook group to also build the GoldenGardenias community and all are welcome there as well. I chose GG as they are very rare. Just like all of you! Please keep all comments on topic about fragrance. Otherwise, it may be subject to deletion. I appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog. #GoldenGardenias  #Fragranceblog #perfume #fragrancereview
